Lorenzo to Eloise, 1915 Apr 18

Montpelier Idaho
April 18 1915

My Dear Eloise:

It is now over a week since I wrote last and still longer since I heard from you. I almost wonder for why the reason is nothing serious I hope.

It is just 10 o’clock, the mixed double quartette have been practicing since evening meeting. I think we have a fine combination J. B. Tueller, Ed Grosjean, Lattie Grosjean, Vilate Purkins, Myrtle Clard Eulolia Stuart, Ahna Winters and myself. Have been working only a week but are getting along fine. We are of course going to win all along the line. Am also working with the girls chorus, just as hard to handle as last year but perhaps they will come out of the rut in time to make a show. I’ll be glad when this is all over so I’ll have a minute to myself. When I get one job off my hands there is always another ready to begin on. When I apostatize I’ll get out of a lot of that, eh? WHEN.

Can’t tell you much news because I haven’t heard any. All I’ve done this week past is starred around ding nothing. The Shepherd Lumber Co. Of Paris has opened one here in the old Sidney Stevens building and there is where I have been. Am chief boss and every thing else including drafting. Friday I drew plans for Dr. Smith’s new home, It will be quite a fine hours lots of room. There is good chance for me to stay at the yards and run the business and I think I would like it fine, especially when a good trade is worked up. Yesterday I loaded out about 115.00 worth of lumber. There is sure a building boom this spring. Br. Rich is moving the old house East and intends to building a bungalo on the corner for about $3500.00. We are after the job.

Well it’s time for small boys like me to be under the covers so good night and remember I am anxious and waiting to hear from you, the days are long when I expect a letter and it does not come.

Hoping all is well and pleasant with you

I am as ever yours
Lorenzo
