Eloise to Lorenzo, 1915 Jun 1

Salt Lake, June 1, 1915

Dear Lorenzo:-

Just received y our short note but was very glad indeed to get it and I am very sorry you took my letter as you did for evidently it did not please you very much by the way you answered.

I certainly would be very pleased to have you come to Salt Lake that is if you would come and see me. Have I ever said your letters came to often? If so I have never intended writing that way I was only joking about Mr. D. D. And would think by now you would know I was only joking. I thot you knew before this what a foolish kid I am and would only laugh about the, (Free Country) and every other crazy thing, but if not I shall be more careful after this.

The weather here has been nothing but rain for over two weeks and to-day is the worst yet, I have never seen it rain so fast in my life but then some where the sun is shining.

We received word yesterday from Chicago that Barry Evans had contracted typhoid fever on the steamer and had died last Tuesday 9:30 a.m. in the General hospital. Isn’t that terrible? We all feel very bad about. His folks want his body shipped back to wales.

I suppose before you receive this the contest will be over but I sure wish you well and that you feel better and write me a real long letter also come tot S. L. If possible.

Just the same Eloise
