Hello!!

How’s my Golden haired sister today? Are you still well and happy?

Boy! you just should see me ‘Figure’ skate. I can do a few of them. I can make four different figure 8's. They are a lot of fun. I can do a few jumps and some spins. I’m not quite as good Sonja Heine yet but I have a lot of fun trying to do some of the things she does. We don’t get to go very often as the weather hasn’t been so good.

You and Velma seem to forget that I might have something to say about you getting me a girl. I appreciate your interest but that is one thing I want to have the privelege of doing for myself. You also forget that maybe the ‘Blond might have something about my bringing her home when she comes back to see me, if she does. I haven’t a spare picture of her yet but I will get one and send you a copy so you can see how cute she really is. That picture in the Era is good but not good enough. So Mother thought she is ‘just darling does she? I think she has a good eye for cute girls.

I’m certainly glad that you can go skiing, and I wish I could but there isn’t any snow, I haven’t any skiis and there aren’t any good hills around here, so you will have to get in a little bit for me too.

That candy we had for Christmas lasted for a time but it has been gone a long time and now I wish I had some more. We can’t affort to eat candy very often as it is too expensive and we haven’t the money to spare on such things as that.

Once in awhile I wish I was still in school because it is really a lot of fun, and you will have more fun in school than you will have anytime or anyplace else. College is more fun than High School, but it is also a lot more work. This is more fun than school though, so I am not sorry I’m not out there. I’d like to see you all and all of the kids, also do a little skiing but this work is much more important than anything else so I am very happy to be able to do it.

Do you ever read in the Bible or the Book of Mormon? When I was your age I didn’t read them very much and now I am sorry. If I’d read them then, I would have known a lot more about them than I do now and it would have made my work easier. They are both very interesting books and should be read by everyone. I’d advise that you read the New Testament first. Why don’t you get the family to hold a Study Class every day for a short time and study one of the Church books. You could all meet for half an hour and each take turns reading a chapter out of the book and in that way you would soon have the book read and you would all enjoy it a lot. That is the way we do and it is surprising how much you can get done that way. We each learn a new passage of scripture every day and it doesn’t take very long until you are well acquainted with all of christs teachings. I have finished the Bible from front to back and now I am reading the Book of Mormon again. The first time was interesting but I am learning a lot more this time and when I read it again I will learn a lot more. That’s enough preaching for this time.

I can’t afford to buy stamps or Bonds. I would like to but as I am not making money, I have to watch how I spend it.

Tell Mom and Pop that I will write to them soon but all you kids can tell them the news if you have found any among all of this rambling. So long for now.

Love
Paul

P.S. You make a Q just like the typewriter does ( q) just make a p backwards. It is hard to make it look good but you won’t use it very much either. These pamphlets are some of the tracts we hand out to the people. Read them over, they might give you some ideas you didn’t have before.
