Dear Folks,

Received your letter yesterday & it seemed very good to hear from you. We have really been having a lot of fun. We spent most of yesterday in just seeing the city. (Pardon the ink but my other pen just ran dry & I can’t find any to refill it right now). We went up to the top of Rockefeller center (70+ stories). It was slightly hazy but the view was marvelous. We visited the Pennsylvania Stations and we we left from Grand Central. They are certainly huge affairs & very interesting. The mission office is in a very swanky part of town & is a very nice place.

We received our appointments yesterday & I am on the way to mine right now. The sister & I are going to Canandaigua. I nearly fainted when I heard it but it is OK. This 11 miles from Palmyra & 6 miles from the Hill Cumorah. It is possible that I will be changed soon but until then I am planning on enjoying my stay. My companion is from Salt Lake. (Elder McMillan). The other fellows were sent to Schenectady - Rochester & Philadelphia. President Iverson is a grand man & the people in the office seem to have a very fine time.

I am beginning to see why this mission is the most expensive there is. I’m not broke yet but I will be soon at the present rate. Most of the fellows agree that the average expense is about $40.00. The amount varies with the locality.

If you can send a money order or sumpin as soon as possible it will be appreciated. I should have written sooner but expenses all came at once (hotel - train fare, etc.) so I didn’t have time.

I am tired & the train will be here in a few minutes so I’ll close for now. Hope I hear from you soon.

Send it to me at 179 Garham Street Canandaigua, New York. All the rest of the mail should go to New York City just in case I have to move rather suddenly.

Sincerely

Paul.
